About the modules

The Planning During Retirement modules were developed for retired individuals and aimed to promote planning behaviour. The modules were part of a PhD project conducted by Anna Mooney and supervised by Jo Earl. Carl Mooney led the technical aspects of module development and converted the ideas to online delivery.

The theoretical framework underlying this work was ‘time perspective’, a mindset describing the way people view the past, present and future and how these orientations influence decision-making.
Assessment of the effectiveness of the modules to increase planning and goal setting behaviour was conducted using a group of 109 US retirees over a 6-month study period. The results are published in Social Sciences.
